How we got started..
James T. Rooney, also known as DJ Jimmy T is the owner and
founder of this fast growing company. He began his career as a
mobile entertainer in 1997. At the age of 14 Jimmy was making
mix tapes and practicing day and night to be a DJ. In 1998 he
purchased his first system which was not all that great. It was a
used system he picked up for about $900. Let's just say he no
longer uses that equipment! He played various parties, family
get togethers and some small stuff for his friends for 3 years
until he got a little more serious. He met a local radio
personality in 2001 who was the DJ at his sisters wedding and
started seeing what was a fun hobby in a whole new light.
In April of 2002 he wrote up his first contract. He officially was
involved in one of the best industries in the world! He was only
19 years old! For the next 3 years Jimmy booked school
functions, parties, and got his feet wet in the wedding market. In
those three years not only did he improve his DJ'ing skills and
get better at his profession, but he learned how to run a
business as well.
He finished 2005 on a great note. 67 events!! He knew he had
a future in this industry. In the spring of 2005 his immediate
family relocated to Alabama for a great job offer that his father
received. He had lived in Mass for over 23 years and decided it
was time for an although risky, but much needed change.
He moved the operations of his company to Birmingham in
2006. It is now one of the fastest growing entertainment
companies in the southeast and can be found on major search
engines, DJ, and bridal websites.
Jimmy has performed at hundreds of events. He has performed
at numerous wedding receptions, and countless school/college
events and private parties. Below is a list of some of the places
